Hi! We are Sarika & Akansha Agrawal. Our goal with this book is to make Indian food approachable for the health-conscious individual. Believe it or not, most traditional Indian food is actually quite healthy: fresh, whole ingredients, and filled with aromatic flavors.

However, the era of restaurant-made butter chicken naan, the fast pace of our lifestyle that prioritizes convenience over health has skewed the identity of authentic Indian food. But not to fear! We are here to share both new & old Indian recipes that fit a healthy diet.

As a family with different dietary needs, we understand that healthy looks different for every individual. That’s why we gave options for vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian diets. We have provided macronutrient breakdowns for each recipe, and have given options for substitutions as needed.

Sarika Agrawal is a designer, creative, and mother to two wonderful children. She’s an active member in her local community in Cupertino and regularly teaches Hindi classes to young students. She’s thrilled to bring this cookbook to you filled with old and new recipes.
